Zeppelin Porcelain
Zeppelin china and silverware are among the more desirable items from the age of the passenger airship.
German passenger zeppelins used two distinct patterns of onboard porcelain. From 1900 to 1935, German passenger zeppelins were operated by DELAG, an offshoot of the Luftschiffbau Zeppelin, and porcelain used on LZ-127 Graf Zeppelin before 1935 displayed the company’s LZ logo.
In March of 1935 the Deutsche Zeppelin-Reederei (the German Zeppelin Transport Company, or DZR) was established as the operating company for German passenger airships and the “LZ” pattern was replaced with the DZR logo. Porcelain used on LZ=129 Hindenburg (launched in 1936) and on LZ-127 Graf Zeppelin after 1935 displayed the new DZR logo.
