This is not so off topic. In the Catholic Church we are entering that time when we pray for the repose of the souls of the persons who have departed. It is All Hallow’s Ev’en (The term shortened to Halloween). In modern English that would be “All Holies Evening”. This is the vigil for “All Saint’s Day” commemorating all of the saints of the Church on November 1, to be followed by “All Souls Day” on November 2 the day which we remember all of our departed friends, family and those who have gone into eternity before us. This is a solemn contemplation, because this will be us one day too. I do not know if you have something like this in the Orthodox Church, but we have these days of remembrance in the Catholic Church. Remember that the saints were once us. They are saints because they shared with those around them from a great charity coming from the divine spark within them. While praying for the families, pray also for the souls of the victims too. May God have mercy.
